Removal, dismantling, assembly and installation of back power shafts
Removal and installation
Components of a back power shaft
- Remove corresponding back wheels.
- Turn out two bolts and remove back section of an exhaust pipe together with laying.
- Turn out a bolt and remove ABS speed sensor.
- Take a pin, take off the fixing cap and turn out a stupichny nut.
- Apply tags on the case of the tripodny hinge and on a flange of back differential.
- Turn out 4 nuts, remove washers and disconnect a power shaft from differential.
- Remove a power shaft from the holder.
- Installation is made upside-down. Tighten fixture with the required efforts, after installation check serviceability of functioning of ABS sensors, and also check and if necessary adjust the angles of installation of back wheels.

Dismantling
- Check power shafts:
- External hinges should not have excessively big side play;
- Make sure of smoothness of the movement of the internal hinge in the direction of a support;
- Make sure of lack of excessively big side play of internal hinges in the radial direction;
- Check protective covers for existence of damages.
- By means of the screw-driver remove collars of protective covers of hinges.
- Apply tags on the case of the tripodny hinge and on a power shaft and remove the hinge case from a power shaft.
Do not use a chisel for drawing tags. |
- Remove a lock ring and apply tags on the tripodny hinge and on a power shaft.
Do not use a chisel for drawing tags. |
- Bring down the hammer and a pig from soft metal the tripodny hinge from a power shaft.
- Remove protective covers with collars.
- The external hinge is not subject to dismantling.
- Fix a power shaft in a vice with soft sponges and by means of the screw-driver and the hammer bring down a boot No. 2 from a shaft, trying not to damage ABS speed sensor rotor.
Do not damage ABS speed sensor rotor. |
Assembly
- Napressuyte a new boot No. 2 on a shaft.
- Temporarily establish new covers of hinges with collars.
Before installation of protective covers wind vents of a power shaft with a vinyl tape to prevent their damage. |
- Place on a power shaft the tripodny hinge a conical part to the external hinge and level adjusting tags of the hinge.
- Napressuyte the hinge on a power shaft by means of the hammer and a pig from soft metal. Establish a lock ring.
- Fill in a cover of the internal hinge 180 ÷ 190 of of yellow lubricant, level adjusting tags of the case of the hinge and fix the case to differential.
- Fill in a cover of the external hinge 107 ÷ 117 of of gray lubricant.
- Make sure that covers come into grooves on driving to a shaft and are not deformed with a standard length of a shaft.
- Fix protective covers by collars, having tightened them the screw-driver.
