Removal and installation

Before removal of the steering mechanism remove a steering wheel since otherwise it is possible to damage a spiral spring.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Establish wheels in provision of the rectilinear movement.
  2. Remove a steering wheel (see the Section Removal, installation, dismantling and assembly of a steering column).
  3. Disconnect from rotary fists tips of steering drafts (see the Section of the Door).
  4. Disconnect assembly of an intermediate shaft (see the Section Removal, installation, dismantling and assembly of a steering column).
  5. Turn out a bolt and remove two collars.
  6. Disconnect delivery and returnable tubes from the steering mechanism.
  7. Turn out two bolts of fastening of assembly of the steering mechanism and remove it.

Do not damage returnable tubes.

  1. Installation is made upside-down. After installation check the angles of installation of forward wheels.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Pick up two returnable phone with four sealing rings from assembly of the steering mechanism.
  1. Clamp assembly of the steering mechanism in a vice.
  1. Apply adjusting tags on steering drafts and on their tips then give lock-nuts and remove tips.
  2. Weaken collars and clips of protective covers and remove covers and their fixture.

Measure the left and right covers that then to establish them on former places.


  1. Accurately to a raschekanta the fixing washers.
  1. Keeping draft a wrench, remove it by means of special adaptation.

Measure the left and right drafts that then to establish them on former places.

  1. Remove the fixing washers.
  2. Turn out an adjustable spanner a lock-nut of a cover of a spring of the directing lath and remove a cover, a spring and a guide of a lath.
  3. Uncover the case of the steering mechanism.
  4. Holding a shaft of the control valve, give a self-locking nut.
  5. Apply adjusting tags on assembly of the control valve and on the case of the steering mechanism.
  6. Turn out two bolts take out the case with assembly of the control valve.
  7. Remove laying of the control valve from the case of the steering mechanism.
  8. Wind with a vinyl tape a gear part of assembly of the control valve not to damage an epiploon edge.
  9. Vypressuyte assembly of the control valve together with an epiploon.
  10. Remove an epiploon from assembly of the control valve.
  11. Apply adjusting tags on a bracket No. 2 of assembly of the steering mechanism and on its case.
  12. Wring out the screw-driver a clip of a bracket No. 2 and remove it
  13. Remove consolidation from a bracket No. 2.
  14. Turn a stopper clockwise so that through a technological opening the end of a wire was visible, then turn a stopper counterclockwise and remove it together with a wire.
  15. Beat out a lath with the plug from the case of the steering mechanism, remove the plug from a lath and remove a sealing ring from the plug.
  16. Vypressuyte epiploon of their case of the steering mechanism.
  17. Check a radial beating of a lath and wear of its teeths and compare result to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering. If necessary replace a steering rack.
  18. Assembly is made upside-down. Pay attention to the next moments:
    • Grease the surfaces designated on an illustration Components of the steering mechanism by white shooters, GUR liquid, and the surfaces designated by black shooters - lubricant on the basis of MoS 2;
    • Establish epiploons in the correct situation, do not confuse their party;
    • At installation of a stopper turn it on a corner 450 ± the 50th hail.
    • Use new laying and sealing rings, самоконтрящуюся a nut and lock-nuts;
    • Tighten fixture with the required efforts;
    • Grease with Three Bond 1344 sealant a carving of a cover of the case of the steering mechanism, a carving of a cover of a spring of the directing lath and a carving of its lock-nut;
    • Regulate a pretightness of the steering mechanism;
    • After tightening of a lock-nut of a cover of a spring of the directing lath check a pretightness of the steering mechanism;
    • Before installation of covers make sure that the opening in a lath is not hammered with lubricant;
    • Tighten collars of fastening of covers;
    • Tighten lock-nuts of fastening of tips of steering drafts after adjustment of convergence of forward wheels.
  1. Adjustment of preloading of the steering mechanism is carried out as follows:
    • Temporarily establish tips of steering drafts;
    • Tighten a cover of a spring of the directing lath with effort of 25 Nanometers;
    • Turn off a cover on a corner the 12th hail. back;
    • Turn a shaft of the control valve 1-2 times to the left-to the right;
    • Turn off a cover until the termination of functioning of a spring of the directing lath;
    • Tighten a cover before receiving the pretightness specified in Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.
