Check of components of the cooling system

Check of a cover of a radiator

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Install the special pump tester on a radiator cover and, holding it at an angle not less 30th hail. to the horizon, create constant pressure, making one pressing in not less, than 3 seconds. Make sure that through the vacuum valve there passes air, otherwise replace a radiator cover.
  1. Under the same conditions create pressure of 0.9 ÷ 1.2 atm – the safety valve has to open. If the valve does not open even with a pressure of 0.75 atm, replace a radiator cover.

Check on leaks

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fill a radiator with cooling liquid and install the pump tester on his mouth. Warm up the engine up to the working temperature, create pressure of 1.2 atm by means of the pump and make sure that it does not fall. Otherwise check cooling system hoses, a radiator and the water pump for existence of leaks. If external leaks are not found, check the heater heat exchanger, the block and a head of cylinders. Eliminate leaks.

Check of fans

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine and make sure of turning on of fans at achievement of OZh of temperature the 98th hail. Otherwise replace No. 1 ECT D/V.
  1. Separate sockets of an electrical wiring of fans, give on them tension of the battery and connect to them ampermeters. Make sure of smoothness of rotation of fans and compare indications of ampermeters to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Cooling system of the engine, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

Check of D/V ECT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Empty the cooling system and remove D/V No. 1 and No. 2 ECT.
Location of D/V No. 1 ECT.
Location of D/V No. 2 ECT.
  1. By means of an ohmmeter make sure available conductivity between contacts of sensors No. 1 and No. 2 at a temperature above respectively the 98 or 94 hail . At a temperature there is the 88 or 83 hail below. respectively for D/V No. 1 and No. 2 conductivity between their contacts has to be absent.
Measurement of resistance of D/V No. 1 ECT.
Measurement of resistance of D/V No. 2 ECT.
  1. At unsatisfactory results of checks replace faulty D/V.
  2. Establish D/V, fill the cooling system of the engine and make sure of lack of leaks.

Check of the relay of fans

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Take from the relay block in a motive compartment of the relay No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 of fans (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
  2. By means of an ohmmeter make sure available conductivity between contacts 3 and 5 each relays, and also of lack of conductivity between contacts of 1 and 2 each relays. Besides, conductivity has to be between contacts of 2 and 4 relays No. 2.
Contacts of the relay No. 1 and No. 3 of fans.
Contacts of the relay No. 2 of fans.
  1. Apply battery tension to contacts 3 (+) and 5 (-) of each relay (serially) and make sure available conductivity between contacts of 1 and 2 each relays. Besides, under these conditions conductivity has to be absent between contacts of 2 and 4 relays No. 2.
  2. If checks yielded unsatisfactory results, replace faulty relays.
