Checks of system of injection

General checks

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check a condition of the rechargeable battery (see Chapters of Control and routine maintenance of the car and System of electric equipment of the engine) and a condition of all safety locks (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
  2. Separate and again join all sockets of the corresponding electronic systems. Check reliability of fixing of sockets and cables in a motive compartment.
  3. Check reliability of fastening of all connections of weight.
  4. Check tightness of hoses and pipelines, and also their connections, paying special attention to identification of cracks. Replace defective components, tighten the weakened nipple sockets.

Check of injectors

Violation of tightness of valves of fuel injectors is accompanied by difficulties at start of the hot engine. Damage of injectors can be the cause of a detonation when the engine continues to work at the switched-off ignition.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine on single turns.
  2. By means of a stethoscope make sure of serviceability of functioning of each separate injector, - existence of clicks indicates serviceability of opening and closing of valves.

In the absence of near at hand stethoscope check can be made to the touch - a finger or by means of the screw-driver.

  1. At identification of unusual sounds, as well as at total absence of those it is necessary to make sure of serviceability of giving on supply voltage injectors, to measure the electric resistance of injectors and integrity of their sealing rings.
  1. Check fuel injection volume each injector. For this purpose remove an injector (see the Section Removal and installation of fuel distributive highways and injectors), connect it to a toplivopodayushchy tube and lower in measured capacity. Give tension on contacts of the socket of the fuel pump, and then for 15 seconds on contacts of an injector. Measure amount of the fuel injected by an injector. Carry out such inspection 2-3 times for each injector and compare the received results to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases. If necessary replace an injector.
  1. Disconnect an electrical wiring from an injector and check it for leaks – in 12 minutes from it no more than one drop of gasoline have to flow out.

Check of the fuel pump

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For check of serviceability of functioning of the fuel pump separate the socket of its electrical wiring and give on it battery tension. At the same time there has to be pressure in a toplivopodayushchy tube (from the fuel pump), and also the sound of the current gasoline has to be heard. Otherwise check safety locks of AM2 (30 A) and IGN (5 A), the main EFI relay, the fuel pump and an electrical wiring of a power supply system.
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the rechargeable battery, establish between the manometer in connection of a toplivopodayushchy tube and connect a negative wire to the battery. Give tension on contacts of the socket of the fuel pump, take readings of the manometer and compare them to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases. If pressure is overestimated, replace the fuel pressure regulator; if pressure is underestimated, check a condition of fuel hoses and their connections, the fuel filter and the regulator of pressure of fuel.
  3. Carry out the previous inspection at the engine started on single turns. Pressure should not change. Kill the engine and make sure that in fuel system within 5 minutes after switching off of the engine pressure not less than 1.45 atm keeps . Otherwise check the fuel pump, the regulator of pressure of fuel and injectors.
  4. Having separated the socket of the fuel pump, measure resistance between its contacts 4 and 5 and compare result to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases. If necessary replace the fuel pump.

Check of the MAF sensor

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Separate the MAF sensor socket, measure resistance between contacts of E2 and THA of the sensor at different temperatures and compare the received results to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases. If necessary replace the MAF sensor.
  1. Join the socket, include ignition and connect the voltmeter to VG contacts (+) and E2G (-) of the socket. Make sure of change of indications of the voltmeter at change of an air stream via the sensor. Otherwise replace the sensor.

Check of the case of a throttle and TPS sensor

You make the checks described below after removal of the case of a throttle or the IAC valve.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Without removing the throttle case from the car make sure of smoothness of the course of the drive of a throttle.
  2. Make sure of lack of gaps between each top screw of a throttle and the lever of a throttle during creation of depression of 0.53 atm in the mechanism of opening of a butterfly valve. At the same time between each adjusting screw and the lever of a throttle there has to be a gap according to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases.

  1. Completely open a butterfly valve and measure a gap a boundary by the adjusting screw on the party of closing and the throttle lever. Compare results of measurements by requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases and if necessary adjust the drive of a butterfly valve (see the Section Removal, installation and adjustment of the case of a throttle and the TPS sensor).
  1. Separate the TPS sensor socket, measure resistance between contacts of the sensor and compare the received results to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases.

IAC valve check

The IAC valve fastens to the throttle case from below four screws; at removal of the valve replace its laying.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Warm up the engine up to the working temperature, check turns of idling (H/H), establish transmission in neutral situation and switch off К/В.
  1. Peremknite contacts of E1 and Tc of the DLC socket No. 1. Make sure that after deduction of speed of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine about 1000 rpm within 5 seconds are established H/H turns again. If necessary check the IAC valve, an electrical wiring and ECM. Remove a crossing point from No. 1 DLC socket.
  1. Separate the socket of the IAC valve and measure resistance between its contact + B and other contacts. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases and if necessary replace the IAC valve.
  1. Execute checks and kill the engine.
  2. Disconnect a hose of admixture of air from an air tube and block an exit of the IAC valve and an entrance to a tube. Start the engine and make sure that it works for 500 rpm either less, or in general becomes deaf. Otherwise check for leakages of connection of hoses of admixture of air, a tube and injectors.
  1. Make sure that the butterfly valve is open half, join the socket of an electrical wiring of the IAC valve and include ignition. Make sure that the valve for 0.5 sec. moves as it should be from position of completely closed gate to position of completely open gate, and then to position half of the open gate. At negative results of check replace the IAC valve.

VVT-i valve check

VVT-i valves fasten to heads of cylinders bolts (see an illustration Components of installation of final collectors, sensors and an electrical wiring) with effort of 8 Nanometers; at removal of the valve replace its sealing ring.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Separate the socket of the valve and measure resistance between contacts of the valve. Compare the received result with requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases and if necessary replace the valve.
  1. Connect a wire of +12 V to contact of 1 valve, and a weight wire – to contact 2. At the same time the valve has to move in the direction specified by a continuous arrow. At removal of tension the valve has to move in the provision of a dotted arrow.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the ACIS system valve. For this purpose by means of a splitter install the vacuum gage on a vacuum hose of the activator of the ACIS system and start the engine on single turns – the arrow of the manometer should not move. At sharp squeezing of the accelerator pedal in a vacuum hose there has to be a depression of 0.26 atm (the rod of the activator has to be extended). The valve has to be extended also during compulsory creation of the specified depression in a vacuum hose and should not come back after that to a starting position within not less than a minute.
  1. Check the vacuum tank located under a battery support: air has to pass from the union B in the union A, but not on the contrary. After this check stop up the union B with a finger and create depression of 0.26 atm in the union A – it should not fall within not less than a minute.
  1. Remove assembly of valves, disconnect two hoses from the checked VSV, turn out the screw and remove VSV.
  2. Check VSV for a gap in a chain, having measured resistance between contacts of the VSV socket (between them there has to be a conductivity). Compare the received result to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases. Then make sure of lack of conductivity between each of contacts of VSV and its case. If necessary replace VSV.
  1. Make sure that air passes from the union E to the filter. Then give battery tension on contacts of VSV and make sure that air passes from the union E to the union F. If necessary replace VSV

Check of the relay of a power supply system

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Take the checked relay (the main EFI relay, the relay of heating of the A/F sensor or the relay of a rupture of a chain) from the corresponding assembly block (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).
  1. By means of an ohmmeter make sure available conductivity between contacts of 1 and 2 relays, and also of lack of conductivity between contacts 3 and 5. Apply battery tension to contacts 1 (+) and 2 (-) and make sure available conductivity between contacts of 3 and 5 relays. If checks yielded unsatisfactory results, replace faulty relays.

Check of VSV of the EVAP system

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Execute checks.
  1. Make sure that air hardly passes from the union E to the union F. Then give battery tension on contacts of VSV and make sure that air passes from the union E to the union F. If necessary replace VSV.

  1. Separate sockets of an electrical wiring of the MAF and VSV sensor of the valve CCV, and also its vacuum hose.
  2. Turn out two screws and remove the VSV valve CCV with a sealing ring.
  3. Measure resistance between contacts of the VSV socket and compare it to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases, make sure of lack of conductivity between contacts of VSV and its case. If necessary replace VSV.
  4. Make sure that air passes from the union A to the union B, then give battery tension on contacts of VSV and make sure that air does not pass from the union A to the union B. If necessary replace VSV.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Separate the socket and two hoses and remove VSV from a coal adsorber.
  2. Carry out an inspection.
  1. Make sure that air does not pass from the union E to the union F, then give battery tension on contacts of VSV and make sure that air passes from the union E to the union A. If necessary replace VSV.

Check of the ECT sensor

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Empty the cooling system (see the Section Replacement of the Cooling Liquid (CL)), separate the socket of the ECT sensor of a control system of the engine and turn out the sensor a deep face key.
  1. Measure resistance between contacts of the sensor and compare results to the reference chart. If necessary replace the sensor together with its laying.

Check of the sensor of pressure of fuel evaporations

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove assembly of the fuel tank, section No. 3 of its protection and remove the sensor of fuel evaporations.
  2. Include ignition and measure tension between extreme contacts (VC and E2) of the socket on an electrical wiring of the sensor of fuel evaporations – it has to make 4.5÷5.5 Century.
  1. Join the socket of an electrical wiring of the sensor of fuel evaporations, connect the voltmeter to contacts of E2 (-) and PTNK (+) and include ignition. Compare indications of the voltmeter at various values of pressure in the sensor to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases.
  1. If the listed above checks yielded unsatisfactory results, replace the sensor.

Check of sensors of a detonation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Separate the detonation sensor socket (see an illustration the Components interfaced to the block of cylinders) and make sure of lack of conductivity between its contact and the case. If conductivity takes place, replace the sensor(s).

Check of A/F sensors and lambda probe 2 rows of cylinders 1

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check resistance of heating of sensors of quality of air-fuel mix. For this purpose connect an ohmmeter to contacts + B and HT and compare its indications to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases. If necessary replace the sensor(s).
  1. Remove a driver's seat and a covering of a floor (see the Body) then separate the electrical wiring socket a lambda probe 2 rows of cylinders 1 and measure resistance between contacts + B and HT. Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications of the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases and if necessary replace a lambda probe.
