Steering

Checks of components of steering

The description of check of level of GUR liquid is provided in the Section Check of Levels of Liquids, control of leaks. The description of some other checks of components of steering is provided in the Section Check of a Condition of Components of a Suspension Bracket and Steering.

Check of the GUR hydraulic lines

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Along with check of level of GUR liquid it is necessary to check and its state – in liquid should not be vials of air. If necessary remove air, working as follows:
    • The car also establish to Poddomkratta it on props;
    • At the switched-off engine smoothly turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop several times;
    • Lower the car on the earth and start the engine;
    • Turn a steering wheel in one of the parties against the stop and hold it in this situation during 2 ÷ 3 pages. Then turn a steering wheel in other party and again hold it in this situation during 2 ÷ 3 pages. Repeat the operation described above several times.
    • Kill the engine and again check GUR liquid level.
  2. Measure GUR liquid level at the engine working at single turns.
  3. Kill the engine, wait about 5 minutes and again measure GUR liquid level (it has to raise).
  4. If the difference of levels makes more than 5 mm, pump over the GUR hydraulic system.
  1. Disconnect a delivery tube from the steering mechanism and connect to it special adaptation with the manometer.

Make sure that the valve of special adaptation is open.

  1. Pump over air from GUR.
  2. Start the engine and turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop several times. It increase in pressure in the GUR lines and temperature increase of GUR liquid to the 80th a hail is reached.
  3. At the engine working at single turns open the valve of special adaptation and consider indications of its manometer. Compare the received result to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.

Check of pressure of GUR liquid at the closed valve

1 — the GUR Tank
2 — the GUR Mechanism
3 — the Pump GUR
4 — It is closed

You do not hold the valve closed more than 10 with; do not allow excess of temperature of GUR liquid.

  1. Open the SST valve and at the working engine measure pressure upon 1000 rpm and 3000 rpm. Calculate a difference of pressure and compare the received result to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.

Check of a difference of pressure of GUR liquid at the open valve

Do not turn a steering wheel at given to check.

  1. At the engine working at single turns and the open valve turn a steering wheel against the stop and consider indications of the manometer. Compare the received result to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.

Check of pressure of GUR liquid at the open valve

1 — the GUR Tank
2 — the GUR Mechanism
3 — the Pump GUR

5 — Extreme situation

You do not keep a steering wheel in extreme situation more than 10 with; do not allow excess of temperature of GUR liquid.

  1. Disconnect special adaptation, connect a delivery tube and pump over air from GUR.

Check of a steering wheel

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Establish forward wheels in provision of the rectilinear movement.
  2. Check a free wheeling of a steering wheel – it has to be no more than 30 mm.
  3. Establish a steering wheel in provision of the rectilinear movement and remove an overlay of a steering wheel.
  4. Start the engine, measure effort of turn of a steering wheel in both directions and compare it to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.
  5. Tighten a nut of fastening of a steering wheel with effort of 50 Nanometers and establish its slip.

Check of blocking of a steering column

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  2. Make sure of serviceability of functioning of blocking of a steering column and if necessary replace the ignition lock cylinder.
  1. For this purpose install the ignition key in the provision of "ACC", squeeze out a lock pin and take the lock cylinder. Put the new lock of ignition.
